"Game Of The Kings"
One of the most eye-catching things at the exhibition Millionaire Fair 2007 Moscow was the conceptual project "Game Of The Kings". This is the fruit of year long laborious handmade work of 10 of silversmiths and stone sculptors. The magnificent chessboard table with Aztec warriors as the pieces is made of a metric tons of obsidian finished with gilded silver and precious stones according to the ancient pre-Columbian techniques. Unlike many of the adult toy for the rich ones following the ephemeral follies of fashion this is a genuine work of art that is worth the world's museums and destined to live through the centuries. It embodies the depth of designer's ambition and oozes the glory and power of the ancient civilizations.
Now you can be the next one who will touch the eternal magic of time that blends together the past, the present and the future.

The entire set uses approx 100 lbs of sterling silver and approx 10,000 carats of turquoise with red coral and lapis lazuli accents.
There is included the custom made, solid mesquite wood table into which the 24" square silver and turquoise inlaid board fits, with lined side cabinets as storage for the pieces. There are also two custom made lizard skin chairs to match.
The king is 8 1/2" high
Queen 7 1/2"
Bishop 7 1/4"'
The original asking price by its creator, master silversmith Alberto Contreras, was 750,000. This was supposedly made for American actress Debbie Reynolds for her husband Eddie Fisher. She divorced him however before the piece was finished, and refused to buy it.
Its current owner is willing to accept a selling price of 385,000 USD.
